Acupuncture Info Guide

What is acupuncture?

Rooted in eastern tradition, it involves the use of fine needles which are inserted into particular acupressure points on the body. These needles are intended to tap into energy systems and stimulate natural healing and pain relief.

How could acupuncture help my pet?

Veterinary acupuncture is designed to stimulate the release of the body’s pain relieving and anti-inflammatory substances, relaxing the muscles and giving relief at the site of the needles. The use of veterinary acupuncture could also improve the tissue blood flow, oxygenation, and the removal of metabolic wastes and toxins.

Will my pet be stressed at the use of acupuncture?

It is intended as a natural and relaxing way to relieve pain. Although your pet may be disturbed at first, it will soon relax into the process and be all the better for it.

When will you recommend the treatment?

The use of this treatment on your pet may be recommended when a particular part of your dog’s body is inflamed or in pain, and usually when other treatments are not possible or not as beneficial to your pet.
